
Minnie Ann Lane:
First lady to be elected Chairman
Tennessee Licensed Investigator, Minnie Ann Lane,
was recently elected Chairman of the Tennessee Private Investigation
and Polygraph Commission by acclamation. She previously served as Vice-Chairman
of the Commission as well as serving as Chairman of the Commission's
Education Committee.
This election is the first in the history of the Commission to result
in the election of a female as Chairman. Commissioner Lane has been
reappointed by Governor Phil Bredesen to serve an additional five year
term on the Commission. The nine-member Commission is a division of
the Department of Commerce and Insurance and is the regulatory board
that governs private investigators, private investigation companies
and polygraph examiners licensed by the State of Tennessee.
For numerous years Ms Lane has owned and operated Confidential Investigations
Associated located in the Moody Complex in Knoxville, Tennessee. Both
civil and criminal investigations are handled by the company. Investigator
Lane has also assisted in federal investigations and testified in State
and Federal courts in several States on behalf of the Federal Bureau
of Investigation (FBI). She was presented the Director's Award for Exceptional
Public Service by the FBI in Washington, D.C. For assisting their Knoxville
Field Office for a number of years. Lane is a member of the Tennessee
Trial Lawyers Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America,
Tennessee Professional Investigators Association, and the Tennessee
Association of Investigators, along with various other legal and civic
associations. Investigator Lane has been a speaker at the FBI Academy
in Quantico, Virginia for FBI Special Agents and Squad Supervisors.
She has been invited to be a speaker at the continuing education seminar
sponsored by the Tennessee Association of Investigators to be held in
Memphis, Tennessee, in August of this year.
